SUMMARY

Before my involvement, MasterA operated as a traditional B2B construction workers platform relying only on manual communication methods like phone calls and messaging apps. As both Product Lead and Designer, my role was to transform the MasterA brand into a cutting-edge technological enterprise that is ready for scalability and market expansion. The core objective was to redefine its operational framework by creating custom-tailored tools to speed up and automate both construction worker’s time planning and order management processes. I delivered a consistent user experience and design language across web and mobile platforms, ensuring seamless real-time sync.

Valandinis (local branch name in Lithuania) has been awarded for being one of the fastest-growing business — Gazelė 2023.

The dashboard is dedicated to Requests & Orders, prioritizing that new requests from various sources (website, client's mobile app, etc.) are promptly visible at the top. The request functions as a draft mode, enabling administrators to assign workers and schedule workdays in advance. Once completed, requests transition into active orders, triggering instant notifications to workers and managers. Admins can monitor real-time worker statistics and address issues instantly.

Page is structured for clarity: order details and real-time notifications are visible at the top, with the worker's calendar below providing instant information on filled positions, time statuses, and related issues. Designed a smart navigation system for easy management, allowing editing workers or workdays from the sidebar, keeping things focused and efficient.

Since workers are paid hourly, it's critical to address time-tracking issues promptly. Workers track their hours, and client managers approve them. Adminis must handle any time conflicts between workers and clients on the spot.

There are two types of notifications: general ones visible to all admins for resolution in order details, and dedicated notifications sent only to the assigned responsible person of any order or request.

Schedule-big

Unlike the worker’s calendar, the schedule provides an overview of all workers at once. Administrators can filter by time status (e.g., not started or stop tracking time) and resolve time issues instantly.

Suggestions

Implemented a smart suggestions model for adding workers to requests and orders, considering their region, availability, specialization, and skillset for specific job categories.

Rating

One of the challenges in construction is the need to differentiate and justify hourly rates for workers with similar specializations and years of experience. I created a rating system that enables managers hiring workers to evaluate performance based on core characteristics: quality, speed, independence, and, most importantly, whether they would rehire the worker for another job.

Life happens, and admins may need to take critical actions while away from the office. A responsive version of the web app is available, offering all functionalities with a lighter layout.

The key metric of website success is to attract new workers in a competitive market. After researching our users' needs, I designed an income calculator to provide transparency on earnings based on specialty, experience, and region. Since launch, sign-ups have increased by 10+ times without any advertising or marketing campaign.
